Location Portraits Workshop (2pm to 5pm)

Venue:   Sedgebrook Hall, Northants

Price:   £65

During this three hour workshop you will have the opportunity to shoot with a professional model on location at Sedgebrook Hall. Working in small groups of not more than four delegates to a model you will be shooting the model at the same time in a number of different locations around the site making use of the grounds and architecture to suggest compositions. Should numbers allow we will have more models available and groups will rotate to allow you get images of each model where possible.

The session will run from 2pm to 5pm.

Although it is not a taught session the Wildcard team will be on hand to guide each group’s progress and suggest shots and settings for those that are less confident. Loads of different portrait tips and techniques will be employed as we progress through the shoot so it will be a great opportunity to learn as well as get great images. Indeed you will probably find us shooting right alongside you at some point so ask loads of questions!

The models are all capable of posing by themselves but will also accept direction if there is a particular look or pose you are going for. This is a great way to develop your confidence for working with  portrait subjects of your own.

If the weather is kind we will endeavour to hold the whole session outdoors in the fabulous Sedgebrook grounds. We will therefore be going for an outdoor fashion look in the main. Most of the shooting will be using ambient light so pretty much any camera and setup is fine although you are also welcome to bring along your flash to add to the scene if appropriate but bear in mind that we may not be able to accommodate lengthy flash setting up situations as we will be moving fast to make sure we get the most out of the session. If the weather is unkind we will move indoors and then perhaps flash will become more relevant, although still not essential.
