Image Critique

Get feedback on your images from an award winning photographer and find out how you can improve your photography.

It can be daunting when you are trying to improve with photography as there are so many things to think about before, during and after taking the shot that will determine whether you have an ok image or a great one.

One of the best ways to improve is to get feedback on your images. Sometimes you are too close to an image to critique it properly. You know what you had to do to achieve it and it may well have some emotional meaning to you that will be completely lost to any other viewer of your picture. It is therefore very useful to have a dispassionate third party review your images to provide constructive criticism and spot areas for improvement that you would otherwise not have been aware of.

Matt Smith is a partner in Wildcard Photography and will personally review your images. He is a Qualified Member of the Guild of Photographers and has received numerous awards for individual images from them as well as multiple lifetime memberships of ‘The Photographer’s Bar’ in various genres. He therefore has a wealth of knowledge about many areas of photography and, from helping hundreds of Wildcard’s course delegates over the years, has a good working knowledge of most of the camera equipment on the market.

For the above fee, Matt will review one of your images and provide detailed feedback geared to you improving your photography. Where relevant, the response will consider such factors as composition, camera settings, lighting, posing, practical techniques, post-processing and more.

The process is as follows:

1) Purchase an image review as above.

2) Email a full resolution JPEG of your chosen image to

3) Matt will review your image and provide a written response via email (please allow up to 48hours for a response).

If you would like a review of more than one image, please select the appropriate quantity above and send them in separate emails. You will receive a separate response for each image.

Please note that it will not be possible to engage in ongoing correspondence through this process but we trust that you will find the feedback useful and inspire you to take your photography further.
